Limited Release #6 Pulp Fusion Passionfruit Sour (another Aussie GF first!)

We've notched up yet another Aussie first, stepping into an unknown world...

Introducing Pulp Fusion – the nation’s first Gluten Free Sour Beer.

Our sixth limited seasonal release gluten free beer packs a powerful passionfruit punch, with citrus aromas and refreshing tropical flavours shining through. The subtle, tart finish leaves a light dry mouthfeel – ready to be quenched again! And at 3.5% ABV, it's definitely a thirst-smashing beer!

“It’s a beer that shows the diversity of what we’re able to do with gluten free grains,” says TWØBAYS head brewer Kristian Martin.

“We brewed with German-style yeast strain, similar to a Berliner Weisse, but ultimately this beer was about showcasing the diversity of gluten free malts more than brewing a classic style.

“We used real passion fruit pulp and we’re really pleased with the big fruitful flavours in the beer – it’s great to be able to offer the gluten free community a style of beer that they would not have otherwise had a chance to try.”

The beer has been released in TWØBAYS online store at www.twobays.beer and will be available in independent bottle shops and venues across Australia from early November. Hart’s Pub in Sydney is hosting the official tap launch for New South Wales on Thursday 5th November – one keg only – so you’ll have to be quick!

The Crescent Hotel Hobart ilaunching the beer on tap in Tasmania, The Duke of Brunswick in Adelaide, and The Prince Alfred Hotel in Ipswich will be the first venue pouring Pulp Fusion in Queensland.

For Victorians, the early summer release will be on tap at our Craft Beer Taproom Dromana, which is re-opening on Saturday 7 November.

It’s fantastic to be able to let the gluten free community in on craft beer’s latest craze,” says TWØBAYS Founder Richard Jeffares, who was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease in 2015, having never tried a Sour Beer.

We want everybody to be able to experience the full craft beer journey, and sours are a big part of this. We hope to experiment with more sour styles and flavours in the future.

“For years Australian beer lovers have explored the wonderful world of sour beers, while the gluten free community has missed out – not anymore!!

In our Taproom, Pulp Fusion will be on tap alongside our core beers Pale Ale, XPA and IPA, new beers S.M.A.S.H. and a lager, and old favourites Experilentil, Mosaic IPA and Ollie's Hoppy Brown Ale, with Gluten Free wood-fired pizzas to boot.
